Job Description
Position Description: Protingent has an exciting contract opportunity for a Hardware Design Engineer 5 - FPGA with our client with sites located in Raleigh, NC and Mountain View CA. This is an onsite role 5 days a week at either site.
Job Responsibilities:
- Computer hardware engineer providing FPGA debug support for firmware development activities for an ASIC prototyping project. Some Verilog RTL development may also be involved as the project demands.
- This role provides the opportunity to work in a hot topic field using Synopsys HAPS prototyping platform.
- Purpose of the Team: The purpose of the Validation team inside our client's silicon engineering systems is to create ASIC prototyping project.
- Key projects: This role will contribute to the validation team with their preparations for the arrival of the silicon, and building prototyping systems, FPGA systems, then running tests to verify function.
- Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of the following:
- 10% meetings
- 45% support software developers with debugging efforts on FPGA prototyping platform
- 45% assisting with design effort testing.
Jobs Qualifications:
- Must have 5 years’ experience with FPGA programming with VERILOG.
- Must have 10 years’ experience with Coding.
- Must have 3 years’ experience with microprocessor systems embedded.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- 10 years of debugging experience.
- Experience working in a Lab environment
- Ability to work closely with a team of other engineers.
- Experience in FPGA design/debug.
- Experience with embedded microprocessor systems.
- Experience with Verilog, C and assembly languages.
- Detail oriented.

- Job Type: Contract
- Location: Raleigh, NC OR Mountain View, CA (Onsite).
- Pay Range: $94/hr. to $129/hr.
- An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a background check, and applicants who do not successfully pass a background check will not be considered for employment.
- ITAR obligations are associated with this role, U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a) (1), (3) is required.
